The Boston Globe names GreenLight Biosciences a top place to work for 2021
Medford, MA (DECEMBER 9, 2021) – GreenLight Biosciences has been named one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts in the 14th annual employee-based survey project from The Boston Globe.
GreenLight Biosciences was ranked 24th out of 40 in the Large Company category, 250 to 999 employees.
GreenLight’s mission is to solve some of world’s largest and most difficult problems by delivering on the full potential of RNA for human health and agriculture. “Being named a Top Place to Work is truly a tribute to all GreenLighters and to our inclusive and purpose-driven culture, which aspires to achieve a healthy and sustainable planet through widely available and affordable RNA solutions,” says CEO Andrey Zarur.
“I am equally proud that GreenLight was recognized nationally for our DE&I practices via the Top Work Places cultural excellence award. We founded the company on the principles of diversity, equality, and inclusion as evidenced by our diverse and talented workforce who push the boundaries of scientific discovery and stay focused on making a difference. My sincere gratitude to all GreenLighters who make our company a special place to work. Inclusion is a part of who we are, and it guides both our business decisions and how we work together.”
Charu Manocha, GreenLight’s Chief People Officer, adds, “It is an honor to be formally recognized for our DE&I practices and as a Top Place to Work. Our most recent announcements regarding our developing product pipeline and partnerships demonstrates the caliber of our talent and their relentless pursuit of science to make the Earth a better place. Our work environment and culture are a direct reflection of their dedication and enthusiasm.”
Top Places to Work recognizes the most admired workplaces in the Commonwealth voted on by the people who know them best—their employees. The survey measures employee opinions about their company’s direction, execution, connection, management, work, pay and benefits, and engagement. The employers are placed into one of four groups: small, with 50 to 99 employees; medium, with 100 to 249 workers; large, with 250 to 999; and largest, with 1,000 or more.
The Top Places to Work 2021 issue is available online at Globe.com/TopPlaces and in the December 5th Globe Magazine.
The rankings in Top Places to Work are based on confidential survey information collected by Energage (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention, from more than 80,000 individuals at 363 Massachusetts organizations. The winners share a few key traits, including offering more flexibility to continue working remotely, tracking progress on efforts to support a diverse workforce, and, above all, remembering to have some fun along the way.
Top Places to Work online extras include sortable rankings and features such as showcasing companies that are going the extra mile to make their workplaces more equitable and to help employees connect with one another, and their communities, during the pandemic.
